Vertical Storage & Handling for Primary & Secondary WIP

The WSA-USA AS/AR Vertical Storage System is a fully automated corrugated WIP handling system designed to maximize storage capacity and plant efficiency while reducing the overall footprint. The system load builds off the corrugator in two directions for optimum cell utilization and multiple orders can be stored and retrieved in any given cell. Corrugator performance is also improved as orders no longer must be processed in FIFO mode. It is also designed to minimize energy requirements with far fewer motors, drives and moving parts which results in a very low cost of ownership compared to a traditional WIP conveyor system. The system is fully automated which tracks every load and shows its location and movements in real time.

The Vertical Rack AS/RS System can be used for both Primary WIP storage and Secondary WIP storage for orders requiring reprocessing on another machine which adds tremendous added functionality to the system.

Vertical Storage & Handling for Finished Goods:

WSA USA designs and installs fully automated Vertical Storage & Handling Solution for Finished Goods products. Our Finished Goods High Bay Warehouse AS/RS systems are custom engineered for a client’s requirements from number and sizes of products to be stored in the warehouse and level of plant automation desired. These systems can be designed to store as little as 5,000 units up to 40,000 units or more depending on local building height restrictions and available footprint. Unlike other Finished Goods High Bay Warehouse Solutions, the WSA solution does not require the unit to be placed on a pallet. Our unique Stacker Crane Forks and Cell Top Hat design can handle “corrugated bale pack” units without a pallet along with finished goods units stacked onto a pallet. This versatility makes this an ideal solution for the corrugated sector. It also allows clients to use the same Vertical Rack system for both Finished Goods and WIP, adding to the versatility of the solution.

The WSA Finished Goods Vertical Warehouse System can be installed in existing plants or greenfield plants both in WSA iFAS plants as well as non WSA iFAS plants. Units are identified entering the Warehouse either via the WSA iFAS Order Tracking System or via Bar Code Scanners, are partnered with like SKU units in a presorting element and then are normally group loaded with four like SKUs at a time by the Stacker Crane into a cell. Units are pulled out of the cells either in quads, doubles or in singular mode as called for by the Shipping system. Exiting loads can be double stacked by a WSA Load Tiering Device and are then staged on WSA Conveyor Preloading Lines in full Truck Load form behind the dock doors exactly as they need to be loaded into a trailer. Truck loading can be via traditional forklift, via WSA AGV’s or via our partner Ancra Systems Automatic Trailer Loading System which can load a full trailer in a matter of minutes.
